LIFESTYLE: For seniors who are able to live on their own but prefer to live among their peers, desire additional security, and no longer want to maintain a home. For seniors who are active and totally independent.
SERVICES: Vary. Some can offer assistance with:
- housekeeping
- laundry
- transportation
HOUSING: Senior apartment complexes and congregate senior housing vary in size and are often designed similar to regular apts. but also have additional safety features. Although the living quarters usually include a small kitchen, meals may be served in a large congregate dining room in some of these senior communities.
PAYMENTS: Some senior apartments are subsidized through one of two government rental assistance; Section 8 (for those that meet low income criteria) or Section 202 (for the elderly). Private fees can range from$950- $6,000 per month.
