Dr. Teresa Ku-Borden was born in Santa Clara, CA and grew up in San Francisco Bay Area.
She attended Henry M. Gunn High School, California and graduated from University of Southern California with a BS in Biology in May 2004.
Dr. Ku-Borden graduated from University of Southern California, School of Medicine in May 2010 and completed her internship and residency at Ventura County Medical Center, Family Medicine Residency Program in June 2013. She completed the Greenwald Fellowship in Obstetrics/Gynecology in August 2014. Dr. Ku-Borden received her Board Certification, American Board Of Family Medicine, Inc. in 2013.
She has always enjoyed science and learning about the human body, which led to her career in medicine. Before, during, and after attending the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine she learned about the disparities in health care and education through living and working with youth and families in communities in South Los Angeles and East Los Angeles. Through these friendships, she committed to become a family physician that will help provide access to healthcare for underserved communities, and at the same time, offer quality primary care.
Dr. Ku-Borden participates in mentoring young adults at New Life Community Church in Lincoln Heights and has volunteered at Tenwek Hospital in Mobet, Kenya and in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Her personal hobbies involve: mixed media art and collage, making cards, running, cooking and trying new recipes, and discovering new cafes and restaurants in Los Angeles.
