Welcome to the

Family Health Center

Our goal is to care for you and your family as we would like to be taken care of.

Our doctors are all Board-Certified Family Physicians. This means that we have training and experience to care for every member of your family.

This website explains some of our important policies and procedures, and gives you information on how to access services.

If you need more information you can always call us at (323) 226-1100.

Family Practice Residency Program

In addition to having attending physicians, our clinic serves as a training center for Family Medicine residents. These are physicians who have finished medical school, and are now getting further training. The residents are supervised in all aspects of the care of their patients. If your physician is a resident, that means you actually have 2 doctors overseeing your care every time you come in. If your regular doctor is not a resident, you may see one of these bright young physicians when you come in, especially if you come in without an appointment.

Making appointments to see your provider We are a group practice with many providers, including resident physicians (see back panel) and Physician Assistants. To make an appointment to see your provider, please call in advance. We use an appointment system where you can call in the morning to be seen the next day. Call before 9 am Monday through Friday when you need an appointment and we will do our best to accommodate you. When you come for your appointment, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time-30 minutes if this is your first time here. And bring all of your medications! If you are bringing your child for shots, please bring the yellow immunization card.

If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason please call us to let us know! We can use that time slot for someone else.
Medication Refill When you need refills on your medication, take your medication bottle to the pharmacy. The pharmacy can call us and we can refill any needed medications over the phone. You can also call us yourself to request a refill.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! We get many refill requests every day. The physicians review all requests and decide whether or not we should ok the refill. This process may take up to 48 hours. DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF MEDICATIONS -take your bottle(s) in a few days before you're going to run out. The best thing is to get your refills when you are seeing your doctor during a visit. Please review your medications and remind your provider if you will need refills before your next scheduled appointment.

Urgent Care We also have a walk-in clinic ("Urgent Care") available-you can come in without an appointment to be seen. Of course, you will most likely not see your regular provider. The wait in Urgent Care may be longer than with a normal appointment, because we cannot predict how many patients will walk into be seen on a day to day basis. If you come to Urgent Care, please bring all of your medications with you!

Childcare Unfortunately, our staff is unable to provide childcare during either you or your child's appointment. If you must bring children with you, please also bring another adult who will be responsible for their supervision and safety in our office
